Home of the Berkshire Cricket League Winners 2008, 2010 & 2012

We will be holding the awards at the ground alongside some cricket fun with a BBQ. Tickets will be on sale shortly. Please advise the coaches if you will be requiring a BBQ so we can cater accordingly.

Junior Summer Training runs from the end of April to the middle/end of July. The different age groups are spread across two sessions:

Tuesdays (from May 2nd): U17s, U15s from 6pm
Thursdays (from April 27th): U13s, U11s U9s, 6-7.30pm

(Note that the age group is the player's age on August 30th of the preceding year)

All sessions are at our ground in Church Road, Mortimer West End.

The cost of the training is part of the overall membership fee. We offer a discount on membership for early payment:

Paid before April 30: £50 (£60 after)
[Siblings £30 before April 30, £35 after]
We prefer direct bank transfers - please email us via this website for payment details if you do not have them.

Colts Success in Wisden!

Wisden Our 2009 U11's put in a great performance against Newbury and were mentioned in the 2010 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack on page 1581:

Newbury Under-11s had a total of 50 in their match against Mortimer West End – but none of their batsmen scored a run. Nine were bowled for ducks, and the tenth was run out. Their runs came from six no-balls and 19 wides, which all counted double under age group rules. West End won by ten wickets.

The club currently has seven ECB qualified coaches. All of our members who work with the colts are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked.

As well as being skilled in the delivery of quality cricket coaching, our coaches have signed up to a coaches Code of Conduct which outlines coach responsibilities, the type of relationship that they set up with players, and importantly, the rights of those players. Further information can be found in the
Coaches Code of Conduct document.

During training and matches, coaches will always insist that appropriate protective equipment will be used - see
Helmet Guidance. The club has all equipment available for colts to use as necessary.

In addition, we will apply the
ECB Directives on Fast Bowling to manage the development of our cricketers in the nets. Where fielding practice takes place with a hard ball, we will enforce the ECB's Fielding Regulations.

Junior Membership for 2017 is £60 per Junior Member, with a reduction for further family Junior members. This includes a £10 payment to cover ALL training sessions and matches.

First-time members receive a free club shirt (normal price £20).

Our membership year runs from January to December.

Supporting the safeguarding of young persons at the club, we have put in place a number of policies. Parents are asked to confirm that they have read these policies and understand the role of the club and its officers in organising colts' cricket activities.
